Cooper M. Clark, DO

Cooper M. Clark, D.O. is a board certified ophthalmologist, specializing in diseases and surgery of the vitreous and retina. He was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. After high school, where he graduated as Valedictorian of his class, he attended Miami University, graduating cum laude with a degree in business. He received his medical degree at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. He completed an internship at Doctors Hospital/Grant Medical Center of OhioHealth in Columbus in 2008, followed by a residency in ophthalmology. While there, he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Clark combines his skills as a retina surgeon with a patient-centered philosophy.

Dr. Clark recently completed a two-year AAO-approved Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship at Valley Retina Institute in McAllen, Texas, where he became adept in the management and treatment of complex vitreo-retinal diseases including diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, macular degeneration, and retinopathy of prematurity. During his residency and fellowship, Dr. Clark performed hundreds of vitreo-retinal medical and surgical procedures. He also participated in numerous active research studies and was a co-author of a study investigating the potential benefits of combination therapy in treating retinal vein occlusions. He is an active member of the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

In 2013, Dr. Clark searched throughout the country hoping to find the best match for both his skills as a retina surgeon and his patient-centered philosophy. He found that match at Ophthalmology Associates of San Antonio, where he is extremely excited to continue the excellence that has been established by Ophthalmology Associates of San Antonio.

Dr. Clark’s personal time is devoted to physical fitness and outdoor activities. He is an active runner and participates in various 5k and 10k benefits each year. He is also a certified scuba diver and enjoys oceanic exploration. As an avid sports fan, he continues his love for all Ohio sports teams including the Reds, Bengals, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
