John A. Campagna, M.D., F.A.C.S. has performed more than 20,000 intraocular surgeries and laser procedures over a career that began in 1989. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of South Florida, where he served as chief resident, and went on to a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Iowa.
A former U.S. Army physician, Dr. Campagna directed glaucoma services at Brooke Army Medical Center before joining Ophthalmology Associates of San Antonio in 1997. He's served as OASA's President since 2020, holds a faculty appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at UT Health San Antonio, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Beyond this recognition, he's also listed in Best Doctors and is a Hall of Fame member of Texas Monthly's Texas Super Doctors—a distinction reserved for physicians named a Super Doctor for 15+ consecutive years.
